Production Notes for Know Your Meme: Creepy-chan

Allison Harvard (aka Creepy Chan) was the recent runner-up on America’s Next Top Model, but for 3 years prior she was a non-self-posting 4chan camgirl

First, I would like to go on record as saying that (imho) Creepy Chan is not a meme! But Allison is still a person of interest which is why we made an episode about her.

I think this is a really strong episode. Chris and Drew had already put together a ton of research for the ‘Creepy Chan’ entry on Know Your Meme. We almost gave in and created an episode on camgirls in which Allison would be one of many. But Drew, Jamie, and the rest of the team was convinced that Allison would make a great topic and they were right.

I think Chris and I crafted a pretty funny script with this one. You can almost anticipate each punchline with the rhythm of the episode (“The internets held a special place in it’s tubes for Allison…” innuendo, anyone?) While we missed a bunch of stuff like her similarity to Cracky Chan and folks like Magibon, I think that it stands pretty well without it.
